An introduction to the core concepts and techniques of west coast swing. Get dancing west coast swing fast! No previous experience is necessary. Experienced dancers wanting to firm up their basics or wanting to learn the opposite (lead/follow) role are also welcome.  NO DROP-INS

This class focuses on increasing the range of moves that you can lead or follow. As always, the emphasis is on understanding the technique behind the moves so they can be led or followed consistently by any partner on any social dance floor. This class also gets you started on adding more style and musicality into your dancing. Must have completed WCS – Fundamentals or equivalent.

We may allow drop-ins to qualified students depending on the lead/follow ratio.

This class is designed to help you get better, faster. Each class starts with 10-15 minutes of technique, and then Michael and Amy will dance with you and give you personalized tips on how to improve your dancing. It’s like having a mini private lesson each week!

Please talk to Michael or Amy about joining this class. NO DROP-INS

We have various days and times available for private lessons.  We are also available for wedding choreography and special events.  Please contact us for availability.

Depending on timing, our sessions can be 5 to 8 weeks long. Please see the top of this page to see how long the next session is.

You can tell when teaching is from the heart.  Michael and Amy pay their students focused attention, and show true dedication to helping us grow as dancers.  Their love of dancing is contagious.  Michael and Amy's one-on-one class has become a highlight of my week!
Michael and Amy teach connection, musicality and creativity.  Once you get beyond basic rhythms and patterns you are encouraged to explore options and develop your own style.  They create a welcoming and encouraging environment in their classes.  Best of all, their classes are fun and for anyone that wants to learn to dance West Coast Swing!
"We took the beginner's class to West Coast Swing with Michael and Amy in late 2014 and we really enjoyed our lessons. We didn't have any dancing experience prior to the lessons but Michael and Amy make the whole learning experience easy to follow and a lot of fun. Our beginner's class was fairly small which is perfect for total beginners like us. Everyone in the class was super friendly and we get to love West Coast Swing so much that we asked Michael and Amy to be our choreographer for our wedding this year! They were very helpful and accommodating from beginning to end and we can't thank them enough for making our first dance a successful one. Michael and Amy are fantastic instructors and we highly recommend their West Coast Swing lessons.
Amy and Michael took me from someone who had never even seen West Coast Swing to someone who can have lots of fun with the dance and is comfortable enough to take risks. Every class we learned new steps, as well as some great philosophy (such as "it’s always the leader’s fault if anything goes wrong" - I like that one :). They emphasize connection, dancing with different partners, and did I mention fun?
As a student of Michael and Amy's for two years and as someone who has taken their full set of classes multiple times, I can happily say that these guys are who you need to take your West Coast Swing dancing to the next level. Whether next level means "first level" or "trying to figure out that one specific move" or "trying to get my dance to look good", Michael and Amy will show you how to get there, and you'll have fun doing it. Classes focus on repertoire and fundamentals and are taught in an open, fun environment that is never repetitive and always just challenging enough. You can't go wrong with Michael and Amy.
